Willem Hendrik Gispen

In 1916, Willem Hendrik Gispen purchased a small ornamental blacksmith shop on Coolsingel and named it Gispen & Co. In its early years, the company produced shutters, bronze façades, and wrought ironwork. Later, smaller products followed, such as the Giso lamps, which were mass-produced.
